Freida thrills Ankerside shoppers with the launch of new store

Another womenswear hotspot for Tamworth

A new independent retailer at Ankerside Shopping Centre is positively thriving as stylish shoppers flock to fashion store, Freida, which recently arrived at the Tamworth retail destination.

With 30 years’ experience in the clothing industry, local entrepreneur Kirandeep Johal and her mum, Jasvinder Johal, have opened their second womenswear boutique, Freida, at the shopping centre which offers beautiful, feminine ranges perfectly suited to Tamworth shoppers.

Kirandeep, owner and manager of Freida, said: “We had noticed that a lot of our customers were travelling from Tamworth to visit our Nuneaton store, and regularly provided feedback that they wanted a store just like ours to open on their doorstep.

“Ankerside Shopping Centre is the perfect fit for our brand, so we decided to go for it. We are now thrilled to see that all our hard work has come to fruition with the opening of our new premises.

“We believe the secret to our success is the fact that, as an independent retailer we are able to build really strong relationships with our customers, which in turn, helps us to tailor our fashion ranges to meet their requirements.”

Freida stocks unique and stylish one-off garments and collections, with quality and affordability at the forefront, but also. It specialises in Italian designs and from the label Saloos as well as selling a huge selection of accessories including scarves, jewellery, handbags and purses.

Mark Burbridge, Ankerside Shopping Centre manager, said: “We are huge supporters of local independents and we want to encourage their success in the area. Freida is an excellent example of a business that has built a reputation on understanding its customers’ needs and has subsequently built up a very loyal clientele base.

“We are thrilled that the centre is seen as a place in which Kirandeep can grow the business and we look forward to seeing the store continuing to thrive.”
