Ankerside extends access to mobility aids
Ankerside Shopping Centre is delighted to announce that customers requiring mobility support during their visit will now be able to access a range of products seven days a week.
Ankerside visitors are now able to hire a scooter, wheelchair or walking aid on Sundays by pre-booking directly with the shopping centre’s branch of Shopmobility by 12pm on the preceding Friday.
Users of the service will need to join Shopmobility by completing a membership form, plus provide photo ID and proof of address prior to hiring the equipment, which will be available for collection from the management corridor – opposite Mrs Brown’s Flowers – each Sunday between 10am and 3.30pm.
The Shopmobility store will remain closed but the Ankerside team will be on-hand to help with the collecting and returning of items.
“We are really pleased that we will be able to further assist our visitors with mobility requirements by making sure they have access to scooters and wheelchairs whenever Ankerside is open,” said Mark Burbridge, the shopping centre’s manager.
“This is fantastic news, as it will enable shoppers who prefer to spend time at the centre on a Sunday to comfortably do that.”
Amanda Coleman, Volunteer Charity Manager at Mercian Ability Partnership – the charity which runs Tamworth Shopmobility – said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for our customers. Sunday opening has always been difficult for our staff and volunteers, so having the support from the Ankerside team will make Sunday mobility scooter hire an option for all.”
Customers wishing to book a mobility aid on Sundays at Ankerside Shopping Centre must book by noon on the preceding Friday by calling Shopmobility on 01827 709392. Items will be available for collection from 10am from the management corridor and must be returned no later than 3.30pm.
