The UP Creative Hub CIC, based in Ankerside Shopping Centre, Tamworth, is thrilled to announce that it has received funding from National Lottery Awards for All to support its project, “Rise UP- Creative Connections,” which aims to provide a safe space for young people and their supportive adults to explore multiple artistic disciplines.
The project, supported by Tamworth Council, will bring together young people aged 16-25 and their carers, youth workers, or parents to create art in a supportive and inclusive environment. Participants will work with local artists to develop their skills in various artistic disciplines, including fashion design, textiles, and costume-making.
The culmination of the project will be a fashion showcase of the participants’ creations at the Art in Tamworth Festival hosted by New Urban Era on September 7th on Tamworth Castle Grounds. Visitors will be invited to “watch our windows” as the development of the costumes unfolds every week, providing a unique opportunity to see the creative process up close.
“We are delighted to receive this funding from National Lottery Awards for All,” said Helen Waite, Project Coordinator at The UP Creative Hub CIC. “This project is a fantastic opportunity for young people and their supportive adults to come together and express themselves through art. We can’t wait to see the incredible creations that will emerge from this project and share them with the community at the Art in Tamworth Festival thanks to NUE.”
The UP Creative Hub CIC is a community interest company dedicated to providing arts and cultural activities in Tamworth.
