Ankerside celebrated the kick off of the Euro 2024 tournament by hosting a special sporting event in the centre. The Euro’s Football Frenzy took over Castle Square today and included a range of football themed games that were free to play.
The centrepiece of the event was a larger-than-life Football Darts game. A huge inflatable dartboard towered over shoppers and challenged players to kick footballs at the target to try and achieve the ultimate 180 darts score.
The event also included foosball tables and a range of life-size celebrity cut outs for shoppers to pose with.
Mark Burbridge Ankerside Centre Manager said “We’re really excited about the start of the Euro’s and wanted to share that joy with our shoppers with some free, fun family entertainment.”
He continued: “We’ve had a lot of interaction from guests of all ages. Sports really bring communities together and it was great seeing some of the dad’s competing with their children for the highest score.”
Ankerside’s next centre event is due to take place towards the end of August entitled Animal Antics. More details on the event will be released closer to the date.
