Imagination Ignites: Farplace Animal Rescue Book Club Launches

Book Club Launches

The Farplace Animal Rescue Book Club was officially launched in the centre today welcoming children’s author Judith Brulo as its inaugural reader. Taking place at the octagon on Mercia Walk, Judith read extracts from some of books such as A Year in the Life of Brack and Revenge of the Servants of the Gods.

The children got involved in the stories, using props and acting out scenes from the books. Judith said of the event “Today was great! It was lovely to share my stories with both children and their parents, mixing storytelling with some action songs too.”

As part of the occasion, a competition was held to win a prize bundle and a tombola to help raise funds for the charity who also have a store located in the centre. Aimee from Farplace Animal Rescue said “It’s been a fantastic day at the book club with children of all ages coming to enjoy a reading with Judith. We can’t wait to host the next one soon!”

The book club will take place once a month in the centre and will feature a new author or guest speaker at each event. Visitors can find out which author will be attending the next book club, by keeping an eye on our socials or via posters situated around the centre.
