Farplace Animal Rescue Charity Shop at Ankerside Shopping Centre has become the new centralised hub for the donation and purchase of second-hand school uniforms.
The scheme will offer shoppers an affordable place to purchase good quality, pre-loved school uniforms within the community, providing a much-needed boost for cash strapped parents.
Jo from Flamingo Events who is helping to promote the campaign said “Recycling old school uniforms is an excellent way to reduce the amount of clothing unnecessarily sent to landfill each year whilst they still have a lot of life in them. In these tough economic times, it can be especially difficult for parents to afford to kit out a child in brand new uniform at the start of each year.”
The community initiative encourages current and ex-pupils to recycle their unwanted school uniforms that may have been outgrown or no longer need, so that they can be reused by a new student.
