On Sunday 1st September, in a heartwarming display of community support, the team at Jennifer Ann Stylists offered free haircuts to those in need at Ankerside Shopping Centre. The event, which ran from 10 am to 4 pm was organised by the Tamworth Soroptimist Society in collaboration with the local food bank.
The initiative aimed to provide a boost of confidence to individuals and families facing economic challenges. Attendees of the food bank were invited to receive complimentary haircuts from the skilled hairdressers of Jennifer Ann Stylists, a local salon known for its commitment to community service.
This charitable event drew a steady stream of visitors throughout the day, many of whom expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to receive a professional haircut free of charge. For some, it was a much-needed moment of self-care during challenging times.
The Tamworth Soroptimist Society, part of a global volunteer movement working to improve the lives of women and girls, organised the event as part of their broader mission to support the local community. “We believe that small acts of kindness can make a big difference,” said a representative from the society. “A haircut might seem like a simple thing, but it can have a significant impact on a person’s self-esteem and overall well-being.”
Jennifer Ann Stylists echoed this sentiment, with their hairdressers volunteering their time and expertise to ensure everyone left the event looking and feeling their best. “It was our pleasure to give back to the community that has supported us over the years,” said Jennifer Ann, owner of the salon. “We hope this event brought a little joy to those who needed it most.”
